In 1977, he went to Europe and met mezzotint artists Hasegawa Kiyoshi and Hamaguchi Yozo. The time he spent there greatly influenced his style focusing on creating still-life prints in an earlier European manner which became his primary motif. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';\"\u003eKatori has exhibited widely and received great recognition for his distinctive mezzotints.
