We are offering a selection of rare copper engravings from Tableaux, Statues, Bas-reliefs et Camees de la Galerie die Florence et du Palais Pitti published 1786-93. The prints depict characters & scenes from classical mythology and are engraved by Bertaux, Langlois, Duval, et al after drawings by Jean Baptiste Wicar.

Each print is in excellent condition on heavy light creamy wove paper with strong plate marks, measuring approximately 13 1/2 inches by 9 1/2 inches. Each print has been recently hand colored by one of the last remaining professional English colorists. The detail of these engravings is very fine, though sometimes the subjects are quite elusive. They are in amazing condition for their age of over 200 years!
