It is quite a treat for us to offer these beautiful color aquatint etchings of various breeds of dogs.  Printed around 1935 by the Paris Etching Society in New York, these rare images were illustrated, and individually signed and titled by Paul Wood.  Wood attended the Springfield School of Fine Arts as well as studied at the Art Students League in New York.

The etching and color aquatint process was most popular in the 1920’s and 30’s.  Other notable artists who worked in this medium are Austrians, Luigi Kasimir, Hans Figura; Canadian Nicholas Hornyanski; Australian Frederick Halpern, and French artists, J. L. A. David and Marchetti.

The condition of the prints is excellent with no flaws.  They are printed on a strong wove paper and signed and titled by Wood in pencil.  The paper is a creamy white and the colors are as strong as they were at the time of publication.  Each print measure approximately 9 3/4 by 8 1/2 inches.
