L'Estampe Moderne 1897

While our images are electronically watermarked, the antique prints themselves are not.

 Solveig by G.M. Stevens LSP120 $295
Each print measures approximately12 inches by 16 inches.

These highly sought-after prints come from the L'Estampe Moderne, one of the most influential Art Nouveau publications of the day.  Many prominent artists of the day contributed, including Darbour, Hans Christiansen, Louis Rhead, Evenpoel, and Alphonse Mucha who created the cover design for the publication.

Published between May 1897 and April 1899 by Champenois, each album contained four original lithographs, with subscribers receiving two extra lithographs per year, the "Planches de prime."

Each plate bears the signature L'Estampe Moderne mark, a blindstamp of a woman's head in the bottom right-hand corner which is the mark of the authenticity of the issue. The tissue guards for each work contain snippets of poetry or literature related to the image, chosen by editors Charles Masson and H. Piazza. Prints measure 12 inches by 16 inches and are printed on thick creamy paper.  Please note these prints have been highly reproduced over the years, but what we are offering are the ORIGINAL authentic lithographs and not later copies.
