Bonnard Renaissance Prints 1832-1835

While our images are electronically watermarked, the antique prints themselves are not.

Nobili Fiorentini BND231 $25
Each print measures approximately 8 1/2 by 12 inches

It is rare to find such a collection of these beautifully hand coloured engravings from the 1835 Italian translation of Camillo Bonnard’s Costumes of the 13th, 14th & 15th centuries. The colours are very vivid and clear, so typical of the Renaissance period.  I remember the controversy when the Sistine Chapel was restored in the 80’s & 90’s & there was a general outcry because the colours were so bright once the centuries of grime had been removed.

These prints have the same vivid coloration, many embellished with genuine gold paint, presenting a very picturesque record of the society of those centuries, from humble workers to soldiers, princes & kings.

Each print is in excellent condition with only a very occasional fox mark and superb original hand colouring. The wove paper is still quite white and measures approximately 8 1/2 by 12 inches. A copy of the title page accompanies each print. Please inspect the images carefully as they are quite accurate. These prints are original antique prints and are over 170 years old.
