We are pleased to offer prints from this beautifully drawn & hand colored monograph of over 1100 butterflies and moths on 48 plates. It is the most beautiful of the author’s works on butterflies, showing them through their life stages. Many are exotic species. It is the first edition, published in 1842 in Stuttgart, Germany by Hoffmann.

Each hand coloured lithograph measures about 71/4 inches by 8 ½ inches on softly aged white paper with very few blemishes. The prints have original, vibrant hand colouring.
