Ryohei Tanaka is a widely collected and admired Japanese print artist and etcher. Born in Osaka in 1933, he captures the beauty of rural Japan, with its historic thatched cottages and ancient buildings. Taught by Furuno Yoshio and an early exhibitor at the Japanese Print Association, his art is held in museums including the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, the Met in New York, the Fogg & many more. Often working initially on location, he creates finely detailed etchings of nature and rural scenes that have world wide acclaim.
