Nicholas Francois Regnault La Botanique Prints 1774

We are pleased to offer a selection of prints from “La Botanique Mise a La Portee de tout le Monde” by Nicolas François Regnault with most of the engravings by his wife, Genevieve de Nangis Regnault, published in Paris, 1774. These originally hand colored prints copper engravings described by Blunt as “Perhaps the most impressive French Botanical work of the period.” Each print is on high-quality, chain-lined paper, with strong plate marks. Most sheets bear watermarks. There is an occasional very light fox mark, usually in the margins. Each print measures approximately 13 inches by 18 1/2 inches. The selection is of the topmost decorative prints from the entire work, and in size it is close to the Besler at a fraction of the cost.
