The Clay Pot and the Iron Pot LF17A $145
Each print measures approximately 9 inches wide by 13 inches long.

We are pleased to offer this beautiful selection of hand colored engravings from the 1834 folio edition of “Fables de La Fontaine,” published in Paris. La Fontaine was one of the most illustrious of all the fabulists. A film has recently been made in France of his life, and the French government issued a set of stamps of his fables in 1995.

The fable is an ancient genre & tells a succinct story that also illustrates a moral. Each fable is beautifully illustrated and hand colored in England by one of the few remaining professional colorists. The prints measure approximately 9 inches wide by 13 inches long, on chain lined paper in excellent condition that is quite white. A copy of the title page and dedication to the Dauphin will accompany each print.
