Botanical Prints from
Gardener's Magazine of Botany 1850

While our images are electronically watermarked, the antique prints themselves are not.

Gladiolus Natalensis GM22 $25
Each print measures approximately 7 inches by 10 inches.

We are pleased to offer a selection of hand colored lithographs from the first edition of the Gardener's Magazine of Botany. It is very similar in composition to Paxton's Flower Garden. It was started in 1850, edited by Thomas Moore, Curator of the Botanic Garden of Chelsea & William P. Ayres & published by William Orr in London. The publication was of short duration, but the first issues contain prints of a singular beauty and grace.

Each hand colored lithograph measures approximately 7 inches by 10 inches, on thick creamy paper with no foxing. A charming component of this work is the original descriptive text, beautifully illustrated with wood cuts & page decorations, & the relevant section will be included with each print. These prints are over 150 years old & in superb condition.
