Polypodium Aureum EF16 $95
We are very pleased to offer a
selection of stunning fern prints from Ferns of the
United States of America by Daniel Cady Eaton, published in 1879. These
prints are lithographs after original watercolors of
ferns by C.E. Faxon & J.H. Emerton. Each print captures
the incredible beauty and subtle coloration of its
subject – the vibrant and wonderful world of ferns.
Eaton was one of the first
professors of Botany in the United States, teaching at
Yale. He founded the Peabody Museum’s Herbarium in 1864
which was based upon his personal library and botanical
collection. Eaton’s primary interest of study was ferns,
a fact that is reflected in the eclectic selection of
plants in Ferns of the United States of America.
Each print measures approximately
10 inches wide by 12 1/2 inches long. The paper is
strong & thick, slightly toned at the margins, with no
foxing. Please review the photo carefully as it is very
accurate. .
