While our images are electronically watermarked, the antique prints themselves are not.

View from Gowanus Heights, Brooklyn BRT20 $115

Each print measures approximately 9 3/4 inches wide by 7 1/2 inches long.

These wonderful steel plate engravings are from Nathaniel P. Willis' work, American Scenery: or Land, Lake, and River Illustrations of Transatlantic Nature.  The illustrator was William Henry Bartlett (1809-1854), who traveled to every destination he drew.  This hugely popular work was published in serial form by George Virtue of London between 1837-1839.

Each print measures approximately 9 3/4 inches wide by 7 1/2 inches long, and is individually hand-colored by one of the few remaining professional colorists in England.  The condition of the prints is excellent.  The thick paper is strong and quite white with little or no foxing. These prints are in marvelous condition for their age of over 150 years.
